New Vibey Pizza Spot in Arts District: De La Nonna
Top-notch pizza, oysters, natural wine, and craft cocktails. I’m there. De La Nonna is SUCH A VIBE. It’s giving Italian/Amalfi coast summers mixed with LA backyard pool party. A mixed crowd ranging from families with small humans (it me), influencers in the wild, foodies, and date nighters.
Ressies available on RESY. They also offer delivery on DoorDash but HIGHLY RECOMMEND dining in.
Parking - we were lucky and immediately found metered parking right in front which is V rare in Arts District. Valet is easy but it’s about $20.
Order at the counter and start a tab or close out right away. Take a number to your table. Waiters walk around to check on you as well.
Staff was very knowledgeable and made great menu and wine recommendations. They were also very accommodating and set up our baby’s high chair.
ORANGE WINE!
One pizza order is meant to be a “personal pizza” and prices range from $16-$21 with add ons. Pricey, yes for sure. Worth it? For effing sure.
My husband and I shared 2 - the PEPP (pepperoni, tomato, mozz, and pecorino) with added spicy honey ofc and the Market pizza (which is their seasonal menu item). This summer they’re offering a corn/ricotta pizza and if you love corn like me, wow just wow. Foccacia/Detroit-style, airy but crispy, perfect mix of flavors in every bite.
We splurged and got 3 apps: oysters and 2 eggplant dishes, but my fave was Eggplant Caponata (middle pic). If you’re into spice, you’ll like it too.
We will definitely be back and preferably on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday because they have a pretty great deal of 2 pizzas, Caesar’s salad, and a bottle of wine for $75.
