Life Update
Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve published anything, but I have a million (ok maybe 20) drafts that are almost ready. I woke up this morning with an urge to write and share, so here I am. It’s 5:30AM, I made myself a nice oatly latte, and I’m pumping. Yes, breastmilk. More on that later.
So much has happened.
I found out I was pregnant about a year ago! A pregnancy after miscarrying comes with a lot of excitement, but a lot of anxiety too. Hearing our son Nico’s heartbeat for the first time was the happiest moment of my life up until that point. And thankfully, I had a very healthy pregnancy and delivery. Motherhood has given me so much more love, strength, generosity, peace, selflessness, and gratitude. I am whole. I have so much more to share about being pregnant and being a new mom in LA! Pregnancy workouts, my birth story, random advice that I wish someone gave me that wasn’t just “sleep when baby sleeps” (P.S. I hate that advice), sleep training, must have baby stuff, the list goes on…
When we found out we were pregnant, my mind was on NEST mode at day 1. Chris and I immediately started house hunting and we were set on Northeast LA. After lots of drama and being outbid 3 times, we found our dream home. It’s a little Spanish style home with beautiful arches throughout the house. Faces the east so a beautiful light comes in as the sun rises in the morning. The backyard needs a lot of work, but I am just so thankful we have a backyard and outdoor space. We also rented out our condo for a little bit then eventually sold it. Can’t wait to share our experience in house hunting, negotiating/purchasing, renting, selling. It was nuts! My friends thought I was crazy to go through such a stressful situation while I was pregnant, but it was GOOD stress. And if you know me, I thrive in chaos.
Chris and I recently went on a mom and dad trip, the first one away from Nico and the first one post-pandemic. We went to my favorite city (besides LA) NYC and enjoyed lots of good food, rooftop views, and cocktails. I also barely slept because of separation anxiety, lol. Can’t believe I haven’t written a post on NYC yet so that’s coming soon :)
So there is my life update to preface all the content that’s coming your way. So excited to share!
